The NimbleHeart team has multidisciplinary skills including mechanical design, electrical design, mobile software development, signal processing algorithm design along with quality assurance and testing down to hands-on technical details.

Founders

Sonal Tambe

Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer

Brings over 15 years of experience in the entire lifecycle of product development from semiconductor to the end user device. Sonal performed various leadership roles at consumer electronics, wireless and semiconductor companies such as Apple and Marvell semiconductors. She also contributed to the marketing strategy for St. Jude Medical’s remote monitoring products. She has a Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering from India and an MBA from UCLA. Sonal has been instrumental in bringing NimbleHeart from concept to reality by thorough team building, product development, clinical trial management, fund raising and business development.

 

Dr. Pramod Deshmukh, MD

Co-founder and Clinical Advisor

He is an Electrophysiologist with over 20 years of experience specializing in cardiovascular diseases.
Dr. Deshmukh is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New York. He practices cardiovascular surgeries at Guthrie Medical Group. He got his degree from University of Bombay in India and did his residency at New York and at Derby, England. He received fellowships in Electrophysiology and Cardiology from Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York. His clinical and research publication interests include Arrhythmias, Atrial Fibrillation, Cardiac Ablation, Heart Failures and Implantable Device therapy. Dr. Deshmukh is passionate about bringing long-term Arrhythmia and ischemia monitoring to at-risk population. He has shaped the conception and the definition of NimbleHeart product.

Dr. Debra Echt, MD

Entrepreneur and Medical Executive

She has extensive experience in academic medicine, clinical and preclinical research, FDA and the medical device industry. Consulting Associate Prof. at Stanford. Debra brings her rich industry network and startup strategy experience to NimbleHeart.

 

Dr. Todd Schlegel, MD

Physician Scientist

After serving 20+ years at NASA as a physician-scientist, Todd has been designing software technologies such as advanced ECG ("A-ECG", see https://aecg.ch) designed to better detect and prevent cardiovascular problems in astronauts.
Todd brings the vision of future generation of ECG devices to NimbleHeart.

 

LaJean Lawson, PhD

Industrial Designer and Exercise Scientist

With extensive design / development / marketing experience in technical athletic apparel / equipment and material science. Adjunct professor at Oregon State University. LaJean brings material selection and industrial design perspective to NimbleHeart for a unique combination of fabric and mechanical components based design.

 

Swanand Sardesai, MSME

Mechanical design consultant

Swanand has used his specialization in computational mechanics and simulation to design cost effective yet strong and durable load bearing mechanical components and assemblies for industries like automotive, rocket engines, military jet engines as well as class II and III medical devices. He has been a key contributor to NimbleHeart’s dry electrode harness design.

After about 25 years of experience in financial services including his last role as the CEO of Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Ltd., India, he is now an Angel investor working with startups, with an Impact Investment Fund and in academics. Sandesh brings top class network including Indian investors and clinicians to NimbleHeart along with the overall perspective of Indian market.

 

Dharmendra Ghai, PhD

Dharmendra has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry in strategic leadership and consulting roles for start-ups in many areas, some of which include patient experience, cybersecurity strategy, imaging informatics, nationwide platform strategy, transformation guidance and advisory, informatics enablement, medical device last-mile selection strategy and building smart and sustainable solutions.
